Frequently
asked questions about QuickScan
Can I run the program on more than one computer? Is the
data in the program real-time
or delayed? Do I need an
external data feed? Is your
program for day trading? Do
you do intraday scans, or only
daily charts? What is the
cost of the product? Why
is your program so cheap (for
all that it does)? Can I
had my favorite stock symbols
to the program? Why are there
only 1800 stocks? Do you
support OTC and pink sheet stocks? Do
you support the Indian exchange
(or Toronto exchange, or other
foreign exchanges)?
Q. Can
I run your program on more than
one computer? A. Yes.
There is no limitation to the
number of machines you can install
our products. However, you can
only sign in on one at a time
(if you forget to sign out of
one and launch another, it will
force-sign-off the other one).
Q. Is
the data in the program real-time
or delayed? A. The computations
and “scans” are all performed
on real-time data (if the market
is open), and the program updates
these scan results between 5
and 10 seconds. The program
itself does not receive a “streaming
quote” feed, only the results
of real-time scans.
Q. Do
I need an external data feed? A.
No. Everything you need is built-in
to the program.
Q. Is
your program for day trading? A.
Yes and no. Day traders use
our product frequently, but
it is excellent for longer-term
trading, and for options trading.
Q. Do
you do intraday scans, or only
daily charts? A. The product
scans daily and intraday charts
(1, 2, 5, 15, 30, 60, and 120
minute), all in real time.
Q. What
is the cost of the product? A.
A 3-month subscription costs
$99.
This continues unless you cancel
(and canceling is easy).
Q. Why
is your program so cheap (for
all that it does)? A. To
complete with perceived competition.
This particular space is very
crowded with hype and even some
scams. An affordable subscription
is the best way we can
break through this “noise.”
Q. Can
I add my favorite stock symbols
to the program? A. Our program
uses a database of about 2000
stocks. While this list is updated
periodically, you cannot add
symbols if they are not already
in the master list.
Q. Why
are there only 2000 stocks? A.
The 2000-stock database is simply
all stocks in the NYSE, NASDAQ
and AMX exchanges minus those
that trade too thinly (below
300K shares per day, average),
and those that trade below $1
per share.
Q. Do
you support OTC and pink sheet
stocks? A. No. However, we
plan to release a separate product
that does.
Q. Do
you support the Indian exchange
(or Toronto exchange, or other
foreign exchanges)? A. Currently, QuickScan
only supports US stocks.
